Frequency Range: 865-868MHz / 902-928MHz
Polarization: Circular
Gain:-15dBi
Product Descriptions
The APRIA8004444NF / APRIA9004444NF is a large-format UHF RFID antenna measuring 440 × 440 × 5 mm. Its very slim PCB structure is intended for designs where a broad antenna area is needed but installation depth must remain minimal. Operating at 902–928 MHz with circular polarization, it can be incorporated into customized RFID equipment and flat-panel assemblies designed for compatible tags and readers. Its specified -15 dBi gain provides an important reference for system matching, so the final application should be evaluated according to the required reading distance, tag characteristics, and installation environment.

FAQ - UHF Near Field RFID Antenna
A UHF near-field RFID antenna is designed to provide RFID reading and writing within a localized area at close range. It uses near-field electromagnetic coupling to communicate with compatible UHF RFID tags, making it suitable for applications where items need to be identified individually within a defined reading zone. Common applications include item-level inventory, retail product identification, document tracking, and small-item management.
The main difference is how they communicate with RFID tags and how the reading area is designed. Near-field RFID antennas use near-field coupling and are generally suited to close-range identification within a localized area. Far-field RFID antennas rely on radiated electromagnetic waves and are commonly used when tags need to be read over a wider area or at greater distances. The right choice depends on the required reading distance, tag placement, item spacing, and application environment.
Antenna gain is a measure of how radio-frequency energy is distributed in a particular direction relative to a reference antenna. A negative gain value does not automatically mean that an antenna is unsuitable for RFID applications. For near-field applications, the antenna should be evaluated based on the required reading area, tag response, reader settings, and installation conditions rather than gain alone.
The antenna has a slim profile of 1 mm and measures 440 × 440 mm, which may be useful for certain space-constrained installations. Integration depends on the available mounting space, the materials around the antenna, and the required reading area. Testing the antenna in the intended installation is recommended before finalizing the design.
The reading area depends on antenna design, reader power settings, tag characteristics, tag placement, and nearby materials. A larger antenna does not necessarily create a proportionally larger reading area. Testing with representative tags and the intended installation setup helps determine the actual coverage.
Metal can affect UHF RFID antenna performance and tag communication. Whether this antenna can be used in a metal-rich installation depends on the antenna design, tag type, mounting arrangement, and spacing from surrounding metal. If metal surfaces are part of the application, test the complete setup before deployment.
